2016 Lexus RX350 Rear Wiper Replacement (Push-Button Release, Not the 2010's Trick)

If you’ve swapped wiper blades on an older RX350, the 2016’s rear wiper will throw you — it’s changed enough between generations that the 2010’s technique doesn’t directly apply. The release itself turns out to be simpler than it looks; the trick is just knowing it’s a push-button-and-slide release rather than the pull-and-pop style used on other RX350 years.

Remove the old blade

1. Find the release button on the wiper arm itself, near where the blade attaches.
2. Push the button and slide the blade off — it doesn’t pull-and-pop the way older RX350 wipers do, it releases sideways once the button is pressed.
3. Watch the blade as it comes free so it doesn’t swing down and chip the rear glass.

Fit the new blade

1. Line the new blade up on the arm the same way the old one sat.
2. Slide it on until it clicks into place — that click means the release button has caught and the blade is seated.
3. Lower the arm back down onto the glass.

Pro tip: if it feels like it’s fighting you, stop and look for the release button before forcing anything — the 2016 design breaks if you try to pull it straight off like a 2010.

That’s the whole job on the 2016 — no tools, and once you know it’s a push-and-slide release instead of a pull-and-pop one, it’s just as quick as any other RX350 wiper swap.
